If you are friends with her you should bring it up in conversation. Tell her that you missed your bet dog that you grew up with. That you would hug him as you slept and listened to your parents argue before the divorce. Ask her if she had any pets. Tell her that your first pet was a cat that ran away on the first day you got it. Ask her what her first pet was. Things like this are fairly easy to 'hack'

Find a way to ask her, there's very little chance she remembers that was her security question. I certainly don't!

Okay, don't listen to anyone here. Asking her is stupid. If you were close (which you're not) you could try and organically bring it up. Wait a while and then /hope/ she doesn't remember that conversation when she's resetting her password back.

Honestly you need to be patient and resourceful.

Patience: look up the top pet names and try one by one. You might not get it today or tomorrow or this week but eventually you will get in. Trust me. There have been accounts I've tried for months before I got in. The point? I got in. And no one was any more the wiser.

Resourceful: use Facebook, twitter, formspring, instagram, MySpace, photobucket, Flickr,etc. 99.999999% of the time they have posted the name or a hint or a picture somewhere. Find it. sometimes on friends pictures or walls.

If you're not willing to do either of those two things you need to step back and stop asking for help. There are a lot of things you have to learn for yourself. Common sense is one of those things.
