As for firefighters in the US and also in Canada, a good majority of career and volunteer firefighters are trained to the first responder level for medical care. If we are certified in any pre-hospital care, we have an obligation to attend to the patient.

We did one a few years ago in my town where the drama club made a false head that looked like one of the popular students and had placed just right besides the car while the actual person was made up to look like he was beheaded. Great gore special effects and freaked a lot of students out. Some get really into it and it does prevent a lot of unnecessary deaths.
