Prove it

(x+3) / (x+2) = 1 + 1 / (x+2)

just multiply the left by its own denominator, and the right by the left's denominator. the left cancels to x+3 and the right be x+2+1. sheesh. i was able to do this out in under 8 minutes, but then again i am a computer scientist.

funny, that's how I saw how to solve it at first too.
then i realized if you do long division on the left, you get the right

Fucking idiots

(x+3)/(x+2)=(1/(x+2))+1 (simplified)
((x+3)/(x+2))-(1/(x+2))-1=0 (moved right over)
ex. x=any number ((13+3)/(13+2)-(1/(13+2))-1=0
(13+3)/(13+2)=1+(1/(13+2))

bitches....

Multiply everything by the LCD (which is (x+2)) to eliminate the fractions. Combine like terms and you get:
x+3=x+3

This is a true statement duh, but you could subtract to get 0=0, so
x=infinite solutions

Try this one, its kind of harder:

Solve for x:

x^3+3x^2-x-3=0
