No. 278 [Reply & Quote]
To expand upon >>268, this is a quick guideline on reporting posts. I am leaving out Off-topic, Spam, Personal Info (e.g., full names), and Copyright, as there generally isn't a problem with those reports. The below are reports that typically don't include enough information, and how you can make the reporting process work better for you, the reporter.
1) "I know the girl and she doesn't want her pic here" or "I know the girl and she's underage in those photos"
Don't bother reporting posts for this reason, since it's just not credible. Seriously. Have the girl report the post herself - see #2 below. If she was underage in the pics - see #3 below (the fact that you knew her isn't relevant).
2) "This is me, take it down"
Okay, on the old site, we got a ton of these reports - and earlier this year, they were mostly false. The best way to follow up on this is to provide your email address in the report so that we may contact you and resolve it that way. Alternatively, you can come on IRC, or you can even email one of us directly - you can reach me at my name at gmail.com. But a generic report with this generic reason (and no other information) will be disregarded.
3) "underage" or "young" or "illegal" etc.
Is the subject nude? If not, don't bother reporting (unless it's reason #2 above, which is a different matter). I only state this because we get a LOT of "underage" reports when the subject is clothed and there's absolutely nothing provocative about the pics. If the subject is nude, then:
a) Is the subject obviously underage (e.g., child, pre-teen, etc.)? We'll delete the posts promptly.
b) If the subject looks 18 or older, do you have evidence that the subject is underage? Please provide a link to a social networking profile (or similar) that shows the subject with age - something, anything. If this is something well-known (e.g., from a CP site like LS, BD, etc.), this isn't necessary.
