And yes, while some States do pre-empt the NFA, the fact remains that automatic weapons are legal on the nation-wide level. File an ATF Form 1, pay them $200.00, wait for approval, have the dealer transfer it to you. It's just that simple if your State isn't a piece of shit. IL, CA, and NJ aren't deserving of the name, in my humble opinion. Luckily, the only item which is explicitly banned with regard to NFA in Indiana are short-barreled shotguns. Everything else which falls under the purview of the NFA isn't pre-empted by State law and thus almost all those fun goodies are up-for-grabs here. Apologies if your State doesn't allow for NFA items - lobby your State representatives to get that changed... or move.

Good luck.
-KMnO4

can you spent shells flying in your face from you off hand, are you ambidextrous, can you afford $3,000 to have one gun retooled for your left hand. all this from experience I have 2 sig P226's both have the 38cal. 44cal. and the 9mm barrels. and it cost me close to $3,000 to have a custom slide made for my left hand, and that's just for the time and materials to mill the new slide my friend to rent at a local cnc machine. he didn't charge me for his time thankfully he is a licensed gun smith.
